Colonial Pipeline believes that when we reinvest in the communities we serve, we are creating a better place in which to work and live. Our charitable mission is to support and strengthen relationships with community stakeholders within Colonial’s footprint through monetary and in-kind donations and gifts of service. Since 2010, Colonial has contributed in excess of $5.3 million to non-profit organizations along the pipeline. Recipients of Colonial’s charitable contributions include:
- First responders
- Disaster relief organizations
- Military and veterans organizations
- Riverkeepers, wildlife rescue, and environmental research organizations
- Public and private daycare, elementary, and secondary schools near Colonial’s system
Pipeline Safety Education
Education about pipelines and pipeline safety is a key element of Colonial’s Community Relations program. Community Relations works with Public Awareness to enhance public understanding of pipeline safety and to communicate the importance of damage prevention efforts and state 811 One Call laws.
Community Education Support Programs
Colonial is a supporter of local STEM and STEAM educational programs, as well as Junior Achievement. We have created a public school partnership at the middle school level to develop a curriculum featuring experiments and lessons which relate to the oil and gas industry. Colonial is interested in fostering talent in STEM and STEAM for future generations of pipeliners!
