Clay Miller

Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

Clay Miller is the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Colonial Pipeline Company, the largest refined petroleum products pipeline system in the United States.   He came to Colonial in 2013, and has served for more than 18 years in a variety of financial services roles in companies across several industries.

Clay was appointed to his current role in May 2018.  In that role, Clay guides Colonial’s financial performance in a manner that supports the Company’s commitment to safe, reliable operations as well as to profitable growth and disciplined cost management.  He oversees the company’s strategic analysis, treasury, insurance, budget and forecasting, accounting, tax and procurement teams.  Clay previously served as Corporate Controller at Colonial.  In that position, he restructured Colonial’s financial resources and worked to provide the company with $900 million of liquidity to enable the optimization of operations and pursuit of new opportunities.

Prior to joining Colonial, Clay served as Vice President and Corporate Controller of Zep Inc.  While there, Clay helped establish the financial reporting and internal control, supply chain finance, tax and investor relations functions.   He also assisted in recapitalizing the company and in the acquisition of multiple domestic and international businesses.  Clay has extensive public accounting experience, working first for Arthur Andersen and later with Ernst & Young.

Clay holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Accountancy from The University of Georgia as well as a Master of Business Administration from Emory University.  He is a Certified Public Accountant and has  been a member of various professional organizations throughout his career, including serving on the Association of Oil Pipe Lines’ Accounting Committee.
